Wisconsin Virtual Academy: Celebrating Our October Students of the Month

We’re thrilled to announce Wisconsin Virtual Academy’s Students of the Month for October! These exceptional students were nominated by their teachers for demonstrating outstanding behavior, academic achievement, and a positive attitude throughout the month. 

To ensure a fair selection process, a random drawing was held to determine the winners from all the deserving nominees. We’re thrilled to highlight the achievements of these students and the positive impact they’ve made on our virtual learning community. 

Elementary School Student of the Month: Braxton Pfuhl – 2nd Grade

Ms. Andell, Braxton’s teacher, shared this about their nomination: “I am nominating Braxton for October Student of the Month for always working super hard in class and frequently participating by sharing his thoughts and ideas. Braxton has such a great, positive attitude and is always eager to learn. He is a positive role model for our classroom. Keep up the great work Braxton!”

Middle School Student of the Month: Claire Zolper – 8th Grade

Ms. Arp, Claire’s teacher, shared this about their nomination: “Claire comes to class every day and is consistently engaged in class discussions. She brings thoughtful answers to questions and stimulates conversations with her point of view. She is conscientious and an excellent role model for her peers. What a delight to have in class!”

High School Student of the Month: Alex Gonzalez-Mejia – 11th Grade

Ms. Klotz, Alex’s teacher, shared this about their nomination: “Alex has been an absolute joy in class! He came to optional and required tutoring sessions for Human Geography. He has also shown amazing progress and dedication to his academics and future self in my AVID III course! He is maintaining his grades like an expert and always… and I mean ALWAYS participates in class. Even if his groupmates don’t… he maintains a positive attitude and is always engaged. I am really proud of this student… he has shown amazing dedication, skill, and self-discipline. He is absolutely going places.”
