Wisconsin Virtual Academy: Celebrating Our April Students of the Month

School Announcements
april student month

We’re thrilled to announce Wisconsin Virtual Academy’s Students of the Month for

April! These exceptional students were nominated by their teachers for demonstrating outstanding behavior, academic achievement, and a positive attitude throughout the month.

To ensure a fair selection process, a random drawing was held to determine the winners from all the deserving nominees. We’re thrilled to highlight the achievements of these

students and the positive impact they’ve made on our virtual learning community.

Mrs. Janssen, Sam’s teacher, shared this about Sam’s nomination: “At the beginning of the school year, Sam’s academic skills reflected a struggling student where reading was especially challenging in getting assignments completed. Throughout the school year I saw her accept the challenge and with her LC work towards organizing her tasks to get them done! As one of her teachers I am proud of her perseverance and willingness to stay with the task even when it was challenging. As a result, Sam’s reading has improved. She has been consistent in reading intervention, fully engaged and ready to

help others. Sam likes the challenge of reading additional words or sentences even if her peers do not. She has grown leaps and bounds with confidence and is a true leader in the group. She has increased her words read per minute by 61 points so far! She seems ready to take off in reading and in other areas of her life. So excited to see how much

more she can grow by the end of this school year! Sam’s growth as a learner and person is obvious to her teachers and she is a wonderful candidate for student of the Month!”

Mrs. Sivertson, Alessandra’s teacher, shared this about Alessandra’s nomination: “Alessandra consistently demonstrates a positive attitude and serves as a role model for the entire class. Alessandra is always willing to help others and stays focused on her work. Whether in group chats or small group settings, she takes on a natural leadership role and encourages collaboration. Her dedication and positive influence make her a standout student.”

Ms. Koska, Alexa’s teacher, shared this about Alexa’s nomination: “Alexa joined LEAP classes with low grades and low attendance and engagement in her high school classes. She is now attending all classes, doing all her work, answering on microphone and in chat along with encouraging her classmates in chat. She is doing so well.”

We also want to recognize all of the students who were nominated for Student of the Month. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. We appreciate your
