Forward FAQs

What tests will my student complete?

4th and 8th grade will complete ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science. 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade will complete ELA and Math.

Does my student need to bring a computer?

No, we will provide computers for testing.

What do I need to bring?

Pencil, calculator (optional), photo ID, lunch, water, and extra layers in case the test site is cold. More information will be going out about what to bring as we get closer to testing.

How can my student prepare for Forward testing?

Attending classes and completing classwork is the best way to be ready. Teachers will have practice-type questions in class. 

My student has an IEP/504/is ELL, will their accommodations be met?

Yes. If you have specific questions regarding accommodations, please contact your student’s case manager.

How long is Forward testing?

This test is self-paced so it depends on how long your student takes to complete each test. A staff member will contact you for pick up when your student begins their final test.

Can I stay during testing?

Depending on the location there may be areas to wait. Parents cannot enter the testing rooms due to test security.

PreACT FAQs

What tests will my student complete?

English, Math, Reading, and Science. 10th-grade students will also be taking the Social Studies portion of the Forward test after completing the PreACT tests.

Does my student need to bring a computer?

No, we will provide computers for testing.

What do I need to bring?

How can my student prepare for PreACT?

My student has an IEP/504/is ELL, will their accommodations be met?

Our school follows the accommodations listed in the student’s IEP. If you have specific questions regarding accommodations, please contact your student’s case manager.

How long is the PreACT?

Students testing with standard time typically finish around 2pm. If your student has accommodations this will be different for each student.

Can I stay during testing?

Depending on the location there may be areas to wait. Parents cannot enter the testing rooms due to test security.

My student has their license, can they drive themselves?

Yes, we encourage you to help ensure they arrive on time.

My student has an IEP/504/is ELL, will their accommodations be met?

Our school submits accommodation requests and ACT approves the accommodation which our testing staff are aware of and must follow. If you have specific questions regarding accommodations, please contact your student’s case manager.
