A scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further his or her education. Scholarships are awarded based upon various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the founder of the award. Scholarship money is not required to be repaid.

This scholarship, awarded by the SFM Foundation, is for students whose parents were killed or seriously injured in workplace accidents while working for Minnesota or Wisconsin employers. Awards can be as much as $5,000 per year for up to five years, but the deadline for submitting an application is March 31, 2015. Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin Young Professionals Club Scholarship
The Professional Insurance Agents of Wisconsin (PIAW) Young Professionals Club, based in Madison, WI, is awarding $25,000 in scholarships to high school and college students who are pursuing careers in insurance or a related field of study such as risk management. The application form (available from the PIAW web site at www.piaw.org) and attachments need to be submitted by February 15, 2015. Applicants also need a PIAW sponsor. They can go to the website and find the PIAW agent in their hometown to request a sponsorship, if needed. No insurance has to be purchased to qualify for the scholarships.
