High School Counselors
Our mission is to establish relationships with Wisconsin Virtual Academy (WIVA) students by offering support in their academic, career, personal, and social development. Through key partnerships, we ensure that all students receive an individualized plan that maximizes their strengths and is tailored to their postsecondary aspirations.
Amanda Wallace | WIVA students last names A–E
Mrs. Wallace came to WIVA in the 2018–2019 school year, after four years as a high school counselor in a brick-and-mortar setting. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology and master's in counselor education at University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Through her work and counselor training, she has developed a professional passion in the areas of multicultural awareness and career development. Mrs. Wallace lives in the Madison area with her husband, their two young children, and two hound dogs. She loves camping, yoga, coffee, hosting parties and cookouts, watching baseball, volunteering in her community, and spending time with family.

Karen Foeckler | WIVA students last names F-K
Mrs. Foeckler joined WIVA after spending many years in a traditional school setting in the Kenosha, Franklin, and Kettle Moraine School Districts. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Wisconsin – Parkside and her master's degree in educational psychology from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Mrs. Foeckler has enjoyed working with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She lives in the Milwaukee area with her husband, four children, and her rescue dog. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, volleyball, reading, and summers!

Tonya Krueger | WIVA Students last names Rf-Z
Mrs. Krueger joined the WIVA team during the 2019–2020 school year. New to Wisconsin, but not new to school counseling, she has worked in education for 14 years as a teacher, school counselor, and CTE director in Arizona. She earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics, a master's degree in education with a focus on teaching, and a second master's degree in school counseling. She is a lifelong learner and is thrilled to work with so many young adults as they navigate the path that will lead them through life. Mrs. Krueger is married to a fellow educator, and they have three daughters. In her free time, she enjoys traveling (the most!), reading (obsessively), running (occasionally), and watching The Office (compulsively). Mrs. Krueger works with the entire WIVA team to support our families and students while focusing on student success and achievement.

Heather Heine | High School Student Services Administrative Assistant
Ms. Heine has worked in two former school districts, Kettle Moraine and Stoughton Area, for a total of five years. During that time, she performed a variety of support roles for different areas of the district with a primary focus in Infinite Campus. She was elected and spent one year on the board for the Wisconsin Infinite Campus User Group, where she was able to gain a wealth of knowledge on the program. Ms. Heine is excited to be a part of WIVA, Destinations Career Academy of Wisconsin, and Insight School of Wisconsin and to start collaborating with staff to best serve our students!
